💧 Clean Water, Healing, and Hope for South India — Help Us Act Now

RipplAffect is still raising funds that helped to deliver 700 life-saving water filtration systems to families in Razole region, Andhra Pradesh, India, where access to clean, safe drinking water remains a daily challenge.

At the end of January, a small RipplAffect team led by RipplAffect Founder and Executive Director Narcisa Mikov and RipplAffect Board Chair Dr. Shelley Perez Chang traveled to South India to personally distribute these filters,Indian little girls drinking fresh water, desert village, Rajasthan, India ensuring they reach families who need them most. We continue to raise remaining funds to fully fund our India Humanitarian Initiative that provides life-saving water filtration systems bringing long-term health and dignity to entire communities.

This project is carried out in close collaboration with Eyes for India, working alongside Dr. Jacob Prabhakar, who with his team provides hundreds of critical cataract eye surgeries daily, medical care, and community outreach throughout India (check video below) and world. By integrating clean water solutions with healthcare, we are addressing both immediate medical needs and the root causes of preventable illness. Clean water strengthens healing, protects children, and opens doors for continued care and meaningful community relationships.

This project is urgent, and help is needed now. We invite you to partner with RipplAffect today, so we can move forward without delay. Please donate now to help us meet our goal by the first part of February and bring clean water, healing, and lasting hope to hundreds of families in India. 💧

Enhancing Healthy Living for Rural and Marginalized Communities in India

Rural India faces a dual health burden – avoidable blindness due to cataracts and preventable diseases from unsafe drinking water. Poor sanitation and contaminated water sources contribute to malnutrition, infections, and reduced post-surgical recovery rates, undermining the long-term impact of eye care interventions.
Recognizing the need for a wholistic approach to community health, RipplAffect and Eyes for India are partnering to integrate a Safe Water Initiative into ongoing outreach, ensuring both sight restoration and health preservation among the most vulnerable populations.

Vision for India
To create sight-restored, health-sustained, and hope-filled rural communities by combining eye care, safe water, and health education as part of an integrated mission to the marginalized.

Objectives
1. Integrate eye health and safe water access in the same target villages to improve overall wellbeing.
2. Reduce waterborne diseases and post-operative infections among beneficiaries of Eyes for India.
3. Empower communities through health and hygiene education for sustainable behavioural change.

Implementation Strategy for a Joint Outreach Model
• Each Eyes for India surgical camp will identify partner villages for safe water installation by providing Water Filters.
• Community education sessions will accompany surgical outreach – covering eye health, sanitation, hygiene, and proper use and backwashing of filters expanding their lifespan.
• Local volunteers and health workers will be trained as Health Camp and  Water Ambassadors for follow-up and maintenance.

By combining RipplAffect’s Safe Water Initiative and Eyes for India’s mission to restore sight, we create a transformative model of holistic mission.
