Kenya distributions in March & June 2024

In 2024 RipplAffect organized two separate water filter distributions in Kenya in collaboration with two SDA Churches.

In June RipplAffect has launched yet another water filtration initiative in Kenya, this time in collaboration with Elmhurst SDA Church from Chicago, under the leadership of Pastor John Piroski. The distribution team, led by Carmen Piroski, delivered life-saving water filters to families in need. Building on our past efforts in the region, this project furthers our mission to fight waterborne diseases and enhance the health and well-being of entire communities. This partnership underscores the power of unity and shared vision in creating lasting, positive change in the community.

“On June 16, 2024 we boarded the plane to return to Muthumo village in Kenya. This was second group of volunteers that was ready to do mission work. 5 years ago group of volunteers from Elmhurst Seventh Day Adventist Church in Illinois, went the first time to start construction of the local SDA church and at the same time distribute 300 water filters to Muthumo village and surrounding community. This time we went back to finish construction of local SDA church and have a dedication of this beautiful beacon in this community.

Other projects we did at the same time were teaching them how to do soap industry, grow vegetable garden and we visited again local orphanage. But, one of our most favorite activity was to visit homes of people in village and check on community how they are using and benefiting from RipplAffect water filters. When we first delivered water filters and did questioner about current health of community, there were many documented issues with different GI issues: nausea, stomach ache, diarrhea, bloating, cramping, and included also headache. This time 5 years later as we went from home to home to visit the people using water filters, the complaints of any health issues were drastically decreased or were non-existing.

We also evaluated their water filters conditions and reviewed with them the way to keep it clean and performing the best. We brought with us another 100 RipplAffect water filters and distributed them to people who did not get it last time or whose water filters got broken or did not work anymore. Community was so excited and thankful for all the benefits they were getting from drinking clean water, they could not stop thanking us. Their smiling faces made us feel so good on how we made a difference in this community. Muthumo village people thank RipplAffect for improving quality of their life!”

In March RipplAffect was thrilled for the distribution of 300 water filtration systems in Maasai Mara, Kenya, in collaboration with Fletcher SDA Church. Building on our past work in the region, this project provided clean, safe drinking water to hundreds of families. By delivering life-saving water filters, we are combating the spread of waterborne diseases and improving the overall health of these communities. This partnership underscores the strength of collective efforts in driving meaningful, lasting change.
